The NGO Regulatory Authority (NGORA) wishes to inform all NGOs that the deadline for the submission of annual reports for the financial year ended 2022 is 30th June 2023.
NGOs are reminded of the requirement to annually submit audited financial statements, annual reports outlining activities undertaken in that year, and annual returns summarizing the NGOs administrative information according to Section 22 of the NGO Act.
NGORA would further like to notify NGOs that have an annual income below K100 million and are unable to conduct external audits to submit the unaudited financial information using a prescribed form available on NGORAs website https://www.ngora.mw/download/prescribed-report/ or on request through email to registrar@ngora.mw. This arrangement has been made to ensure that NGOs submit their annual reports within the set period, this category of NGOs are however still expected to submit their audited financial statements by December, 2023.
Since 2020, the Authority has been summarizing the submitted reports and producing the NGO Sector Report which includes finance inflows, employment and activities done by the NGOs. The NGO Sector Report is developed to provide data for decision making to Government, development partners and all stakeholders.
